Happy Anniversary, you two! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Mount Rainier Wild Flower Season – Paradise at Sunrise

13 Aug

Mount Rainier is one of the top destinations in the Northwest during the summer season. The wildflower season is much anticipated and short lived. On sunny, warm weekends, the traffic is lined up for miles to get into the park (think of the drive through Currituck to the Outer Banks on a Saturday afternoon during July).

For the past two years, our summer has come later and later, therefore the wildflowers are blooming later and later (in case you didn’t know, it takes a while for a glacier to melt!) This past weekend, I met up with a group of photographers and headed out at 3am (the 1:45am alarm came way too early)to hit Mount Rainier at sunrise.

We beat the traffic up to Paradise but only because we might be slightly coo-coo. We were heading out for the day just as all the bar hoppers were headed home to crash.

While everyone was turned toward Mount Rainier, I looked backward over the waterfall and saw this:

The wildflowers weren’t at their peak yet so most of the flower shots below were taken on the drive down, along the sides of the road. Luckily the park service has accounted for random stops and created extra pull out areas and parking spots for us photographers who can’t wait to jump out of the car and get a few shots off.

This is the waterfall featured in the shot above – just further down the mountain.

Thanks to Sharon, I have a few shots of me in action too🙂

It’s a ….Girl! L Family Gender Reveal {Puyallup Family Photographer}

9 Aug

I met up with the L family at Pioneer Park in Puyallup. Melissa contacted me to do a family shoot since they hadn’t had any family photos taken since before their son was born. Now that she is expecting baby #3, she wanted to document this time in their lives. I had an incredibly fun time helping plan this gender reveal shoot.

I know it was difficult to keep the gender under wraps until the shoot, but you did a great job, Melissa!

Lea is so excited to be a big sister again – especially to a little sister!

Melissa, you are stunning!

I love the passion between these two!

Gerald is such a ham!

What a fun afternoon🙂 Ali Grace is going to be welcomed into such a fun and happy family! I can’t wait to meet your new baby girl! See you in November!!

Leave some love for L Family!

Oh Canada Wedding Day {Auburn Wedding Photographer}

19 Jul

They say it’s always iffy weather wise for any outdoor wedding scheduled before July 4th here in Washington.  Mandy and Shane’s wedding was July 1st – Canada Day! Very appropriate considering he’s from Regina, Saskatchewan! Their luck held out and the weather, though cloudy, held perfectly for this outdoor ceremony. This was the first ceremony held at the new Green River Community College wedding terrace.

Congratulations, you two! Thank you for letting me be part of your day and trusting me to capture your big moment!

3 Generations::K Family {Tacoma Family Photographer}

18 Jul

Megan contacted me to do a family shoot since they haven’t had a family session since their littlest was born.  It just so happened that Brandon’s dad was in town so we had the opportunity to capture 3 generations together.

Thank you, Megan and Brandon for letting me spend the afternoon with your family.  It was truly a delight!

1st Day of Summer

10 Jul

I’ve been on Meetup.com for a few months now. I joined so I could get out and meet new people who like photography as much as I do. One of the meetups recently was at the Tacoma Museum of Glass. The first official day of summer and the weather was gorgeous, Rico and Catalina decided join me too. It was past Catalina’s bedtime but we chanced it anyway and I’m so glad we did. She slept in her stroller the entire time, despite loud trains rambling by. She may not nap very well during the day, but at night, this child sleeps great (crossing my fingers that I didn’t just jinx us!)!!
